Dear Readers,

I been struggling with what to do wid de Guyana blog for quite some time.  Ever since it come to me notice dat people use it for research for book and papers without even giving me a li'l credit.

Yes.

Credit.

I know it sound greedy and all o' that, but when you writing and want to publish and sell you' writing, a li'l bit o' credit does go a nice way.

So...the plan is to make the writing there, on de Guyana blog private, so I can dig into it, pick from it it, water it, reap it.

And I gon be writing on this blog, I'migrant, which is actually how I feel right now...in-between here and other places

Cheers xxx
Greetings from my home to yours xx

  4. George said [got this from my email]: "Hey! Nice new blog. I share your sentiments! It sucks to not be given credit for something that belongs to you. Karma will get them."

Yes. I like Karma. I like Karma a lot!

    Dan said: "Hi G,

Thanks for visiting. You are right to be upset about people using your work without credit. It is both dishonest and unfair to you. Credit where credit is due is a good maxim. To paraphrase the quality of mercy speech from the Merchant of Venice only in this case addressing credit, "... it blesseth him that gives and him that takes." And amen to that."

Dan, some people might think I'm being childish...but that's their opinion.
    Bless Shakespeare :-)

  5. So long as you're writing, and there's somewhere I can read it, I don't mind which blog you use :)

    1. I feel as though I'm starting over, Kim.
      Which is good, isn't it?
Keeps me from taking everyone and everything for granted.
I'm fiddling with the settings, photo [which needs cropping...]

  6. Neena, I like the look of the page - the sea-foam green and font - really nice.

  7. It is not childish to try to protect one's writing - it's professional.
Some of the pilfering is down to ignorance. An acquaintance in a writing group I used to belong to asked if I would mind if she used a vital part of my story - the masked man had a blue and a brown eye a la Bowie. I was so flabbergasted I couldn't find the words to tell her of my acute disapproval and she actually used it. My fault.

    1. Pat!!! Please tell me you've made a mistake in telling me that she actually used it...that you meant she didn't get to use it.

Flabbergasted only half explains how I feel.

      We live and learn though.

I hope I've protected my off-line writing properly.

The things people do for fame and fortune. You'd think they'd dig into their own creative selves to write, to sing, to dance, rather than to steal.
